I am not in foreclosure yet, but I recently lost my position and we have very little savings so I don’t know that I will be able to save my house. We just got into our home in July and then my company lost a major account and I was out of work. I am doing sales now, but that is commission based and slow to pay. I have no equity in my home per se, and i live in California. I guess I’m wondering with the market the way it is, it might be better to walk away and try again in a few years.

I have a debt situation I am trying to work out. It is in Australia, but I live in the USA, on work visa. I am worried that if I’m made bankrupt in Australia, that I’ll have problems renewing my visa. I’m trying to pay back my creditors, but unfortunately they are not willing to negotiate very much. I’ve been told that they won’t make me bankrupt for $28,000 as they bought the debt for pennies on the dollar, and it probably isn’t worth their while. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Please give suggestions on allowing our home to go through foreclosure or other means during our Chapter 13 process. It has become very apparent that we are unable to afford it and is part of our total money outlay problem. Not sure we can sell this property and get out from underneath the total payoff amount.
Also, what would happen if we sold the home for less than the payoff? Is foreclosue an option. Sounds painful. Need and appreciate all help with this situation.
